Since the amazing Star Wars series, Andor, ended on Disney+, there has been a new Rebellion within the gaming community. As the Helldivers are rushing to protect Super Earth, veterans of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 have teamed up with new players to bring life back to Battlefront 2 to make their demands to Disney heard. I am one of these veterans, and I stand with the movement and demands the gamers are making.
WE DEMAND BATTLEFRONT 3!

I can remember spending many sleepless summer nights online with the boys battling it out against clankers and Stormtroopers during Sumpermacy matches, Galactic Assault, Starship Battles, and Heroes vs Villains matches, and they were some of the best nights of my life. There was a real sense of community during these matches, and there were many unspoken rules that we all abided by for the sake of honor and loyalty to a franchise that was all mighty. When I first heard of this resurgence in gaming, I didn’t pay mind to it at first because this sort of thing happens once a year, but this feels different. Something has changed with the fans.
Could it be that we are getting fed up with the lack of good Star Wars content through Disney (aside from Andor, a magical show)? Are we upset about the Star Wars celebration Fortnite is getting, which is blunt proof that a Battlefront 3 game is possible? Is it that we are still upset that EA cut live support for Battlefront 2 five years ago? Could it be all the above? I don’t know, but what I do know is that we are back with a vengeance!

Steam has reported a massive uptake in player count, similar to what we had in 2021, and it seems to be steadily growing with Star Wars content creators such as Bombastic joining our cause to bring about Battlefront 3. This Rebellion may appear to be fruitless and “annoying” for some, but our voice must be getting attention, as reports state that one of the original devs for Battlefront 2, Mats Helge Holm, has replied to a r/StarWarsBattlefront about the possibility of a sequel game, and he has this to say:

HOPE STILL LIVES!
We all deserve a new game, and this little glimmer has reinforced our drive to Battlefront 3! If we can manage to get GTA VI an official date, then maybe if we keep fighting, flooding the Battlefront 2 servers, we can get what we desire! We can all help the cause by commenting #Battlefront3 everywhere on social media (it doesn’t have to be on Star Wars posts), and if you are able, GET TO THE BATTLEFRONT!!! WE NEED YOU!!!
