“Grand Theft Auto 6” has been in the works for over 10 years, with some fans speculating that it’s all a hoax and it’ll never be made. We’ve seen hundreds of Youtubers trying to cover every bit of news and clues surrounding the enigma that is GTA 6, and some have downright trolled people by saying they have exclusive gameplay. With all the crazy shit that’s been happening these past few years, and the general disappointments in how Rockstar is treating their loyal fans, we finally have a win. About 72 hours ago on Twitter, gameplay from the fabled GTA 6 was leaked!
A mysterious hacker uploaded a zip file containing pre-alpha gameplay from GTA 6 along with its source code onto a GTA Forums site, and the fans took action and started to spread the word that GTA 6 is real and it looks pretty damn good. Unfortunately, I was only able to save a few screenshots before Rockstar started to take them down, but I can still tell you what we know so far.
Protagonists and Plot

There will be two playable protagonists, Jason and Lucia, with multiple in-game conversations implying that these two are a couple meaning this could be a “Bonnie and Clyde” inspired story. This game is also said to take place in a modern-day Vice City, which brings me joy since my first intro to GTA was Vice City.

More proof that this game will be set in Vice City is the real-world comparisons between some in-game locations and places in Miami found on the Google street view. This all we know about the plot at the time of the leak, but thankfully we have more info on the gameplay.
Gameplay
With the way Lucia looks in this pic, I wouldn’t be surprised if the shooting mechanics are similar to Red Dead Redemption. Both Red Dead games have realistic gun handling/shootouts and a limited weapon inventory (the rest of your weapons were left on your horse, so I can see it adapting to leaving weapons in your car as a possibility), so bringing that into a GTA setting would prompt players to strategize before missions instead of going in guns blazing (which is pointless since I’ll rushing in no matter what).
Another interesting development was the idea that cops will recognize your car model and/or plate number even after you lose your wanted level. This NPC behavior was first introduced in Red Dead Redemption 2 when the police of towns you committed crimes in will recognize you if you’re wearing the same outfit you committed the crime in, which is why it was important to always change your clothes. So now we know that stealing cars will have an even greater importance than in previous games, which is great since the game is literally called “Grand Theft Auto”.
That’s pretty much all I know from the leaks, but I think the best part of all this is the praise GTA 6 is getting from the gamining community.
Public Reception
These leaks have everyone so hyped for the game, and even though Rockstar is kicking themself in the butt for letting this happen, they have to realize they kinda deserved it for taking so DAMN long to even give us a trailer for GTA 6! Rockstar kept shifting their efforts to continue updating “GTA Online ” and making that horrendous GTA Trilogy remaster, they have forgotten to prepare for the future! The people like what GTA 6 has to offer, and they need to capitalize on it while the iron is still hot. The least they can give us is a trailer for the game, or maybe a poster, but we need something to quench our thirst for GTA.

Fans everywhere are happy to see that GTA 6 is real and is truly in-development, and some are even remarking that this pre-alpha footage is better than the new Saints Row game that came out recently (to be honest, any game looks better than that dumpster fire). The memes about this are hilarious, all the gamers are toasting to this grand achievement of leaks, it’s good vibes all around. It’s nice to finally get some good news during these bizarre times.
That’s all I have for you today, so be sure to like and comment your thoughts on the GTA 6 leaks below. Also if you haven’t already, subscribe to the blog to be emailed updates on my latest blog postings. This is your friendly neighborhood cosplayer saying good-bye, and see you next time.
