Before every great story, there is an origin story. Typically there is meant to be one origin for each great story, unless if you’re some Hollywood studio that is obessed with making money from rebooted franchises. Luckily this isn’t one of those cases.
My name is LegendPool, and I am simply a cosplayer for fun. I’ve been cosplaying as the famous Merc with a Mouth since 2016, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Cosplaying has kind of been my biggest tool in helping grow as an individual. During my childhood, I didn’t have a lot of friends and I was pretty much a wallflower. Nobody really paid mind to me, and I was ok with that. I was comfortable with being a “lone wolf” of sorts, but there was a part of me that utterly hated that idea. It all changed when I got my first Deadpool mask.
I discovered a new part of myself, a more “extroverted” version of myself. I finally felt comfortable expressing myself to other people, and more people started to notice, which makes sense because who wouldn’t notice some dorky kid in a red mask? All jokes aside, cosplay helped me become comfortable within my own skin. I have made a lot of amazing friends through cosplay, and cosplaying has made my Comic-Con experience ten times more awesome!
So now you’re probably wondering, “Why is this dude starting a blog site? Why do I want to read about some cosplayer”, and the answer is simple: I am much more than “some cosplayer”. I am an avid fan of all things comics, videogames, movies, manga, and the list goes on, and I have so many thoughts and opinions on all those topics, and I finally feel brave enough to share it with all of you!
So buckle up my friends, because I’m taking for a thrill ride through my Geekdom! (Kingdom plus Geek, you get the idea)
